Corten Steel with Tiny Anvil

Elevating Corten Steel Planters with WaterUps Sub-Irrigation
Corten steel has long been a material we’ve wanted to work with—its rich, weathered patina creates a striking focal point in any space. So, when the opportunity arose to collaborate with our friends at Tiny Anvil, New Zealand’s leading provider of luxury Corten steel, we were excited to integrate a smart irrigation solution into their 1400mm trough planter.

We installed a WaterUps sub-irrigation channel, a simple drop-in-place solution. Thanks to its rigid liner, the reservoir remains fully supported once filled, eliminating the need for additional structural reinforcement. To complement the elegance of the planter, we selected a lush mix of outdoor plants with a feature lemon tree at the centre.

Over summer, the results have been outstanding. The citrus tree is producing an abundance of fruit, while the surrounding plants spill over the edges, creating a vibrant, overflowing display. The success of this installation has driven strong demand for irrigation solutions within Corten steel planters, with many more happy customers now benefiting from the perfect pairing of Corten and WaterUps.
