ASB Bank Entry Planters

The entry walkway of a newly constructed ASB Bank office required durable concrete trough planters that could provide both visual greenery and physical protection for the building frontage.
The site presented challenging growing conditions, including wind exposure, shaded periods beneath a canopy, and high reflected heat from surrounding paving and walls. To improve plant performance within the shallow soil profile, two sub-irrigation reservoir cells were installed in each planter to maintain consistent moisture and reduce reliance on frequent surface watering.
A layered planting palette was selected to soften the hard architectural environment and create a natural, welcoming entrance experience. The result is a resilient, low-maintenance planting scheme that thrives year-round, allowing maintenance visits to focus on presentation rather than plant recovery.
