From Pavers to Produce: A Patio Transformed

Jenna transformed a plain paved patio into a productive edible garden using a compact U-shaped layout of wicking beds. Working with limited space, she installed three 1680 mm and one 2040 mm timber wicking bed kits directly onto level pavers, finishing them with white-stained timber to complement the outdoor area.
The self-watering system allows vegetables and herbs to thrive with minimal maintenance, keeping plants consistently hydrated even during dry periods. The result is a clean, modern courtyard that produces fresh food year-round without requiring a traditional backyard.
This project shows how small patios, courtyards, and balconies can become practical growing spaces through efficient design and water-wise gardening.
